Sleep for Sands..we need your help.

Hi guys..I have created this blog on behalf of a group of mothers and mothers to be who came together via a parenting forum and have become lifelong friends.  This website has an international reputation and is a haven for women of all ages from all over the world in sharing thoughts, opinions, peer support and ideas mainly surrounding pregnancy and parenting but also a vast array of issues.

One thing that the members do on a regular basis is raise money for charities or members who are not as fortunate as others. In the past, members have raised money to buy a headstone/memorial gifts for other members who are less well off or have suffered the tragic loss of their baby, or simply arrange a collection for an occasion such as a birthday. Members also meet up throughout the year on various days out both with the children and without.

I have decided that I would like to raise funds for Sands, the stillbirth & neonatal death society. It is a UK charity providing support to anyone affected by the death of a baby and promoting research to reduce the loss of babies lives. This is a cause which has personally affected the lives of some of our members.  Therefore, a group of us  would like to arrange a Charity Slumber Party/Sleep over.  We will be seeking sponsors ranging from family members to companies. We will be auctioning/raffling signed football memorabilia, babys toys, clothing, customised items amongst others. All prizes will be donated meaning every single penny raised will go to the charity that we so strongly want to support. We will also utilise social networking such as Facebook and Twitter to bring attention to the event and hopefully raise more funds and awareness.  This event would reach all corners of the globe.  We will also be contacting the local media and inviting them to report on the event in the hope of maximising awareness.  Therefore, the publicity received would be of a high magnitude and extremely positive.

We need your help! We need a fairly well sized area to hold the event and we hope anybody reading this will be able to provide us with this as one of our main sponsors.  You would be supporting a really good cause and would receive free advertising by way of publicity via local media, social networking and on our website by putting your name to the event.

I really hope you will be able to help us and look forward to hearing from you. If anybody has a venue in mind or anything they can offer towards to raffle from their business it would be very much appreciated. You can contact me on: owens-bennett@sky.com
